Hobbies

Seven things I like, scattered across an asteroid field. Fly to each one to read it. There are ships in the way — they are not friendly.

The same list, no game involved

Taking them apart to understand them

I started working on bikes out of necessity and stayed for the pleasure. I once modelled an entire PCX in 3D, part by part, just to see what was under the plastic. The Motofast fleet handles the rest of the practice.

    Progress you cannot argue with

I like the gym because it is the one part of my day where the result is not up for debate: either it goes up or it does not. I built an app to log the sets — with the rule that no AI ever picks the weight.

  • Making games

Godot at the end of the day

A Pac-Man to learn on, a platformer with real physics, a roguelike with seed-generated dungeons. Making games teaches you fast: either it is fun within ten seconds or it is not.

  • Worldbuilding

    A whole world still unsorted

I have been building a world around the Tarot for a long time — dozens of notes, three magic systems that still disagree with each other and no settled canon. That is the good part.

  • Video essays

    Games read through another lens

I write scripts about constructed worlds — games read through philosophy and psychology rather than technical analysis. No face, no jokes, slow pace. The opposite of what the algorithm wants, which is why I like it.

    International Relations and the rest

The degree forces a lot of reading, but the habit came first. All the notes live in the IR notebook on this site, which exists because summarising for someone else is the fastest way to find out whether I understood.

  • Machines that run themselves

Leaving something working on its own

Agents, routines, small systems that run without me and send back the result. Half of what I do starts here: leaving something running overnight and finding the work done in the morning.
